Tin Trade in the Mediterranean During the Bronze Age — Home

Welcome to the Tin Trade! This website aims to show the various impacts of the tin trade in and around the Mediterranean Sea. Tin was essential during the Bronze Age. Bronze is made of tin and copper. Bronze was important because it made stronger tools than pure copper, but was easier to smelt than iron. However tin is quite rare, and needed to be traded for. This website will cover a two different civilizations, and how they interacted with the tin trade during the Bronze Age. We'll look at the Phoenicians, the Mycenaean Greeks, and how these cultures affected each other. The Mediterranean Sea
